We walked slowly to the front door and opened it a crack. The chain on the door still on. Both Nick and I were shaking. Nick was the first to look out the door. He relaxed.
"Who is it?" I asked still nervous.
"It is just Ken. One of my bodyguards." Nick smiled looking back at me. We unlocked the door and let him in.
"I heard what happened before it was released. That's why I got here so fast." Ken said concerned.
My parents came home and we told them what happened. They were just as shocked as we were. Nicks' family called and so did the guys. They wanted to check up and see if we were still here. Of course the press called so much that eventually we just let the machine get it.
I had to start school in two weeks and Nick had to go back on tour in three. We had a tough desision to make. weither to stay together or to seperate, him go on tour and I go to college like we were origanally were going to do.
"Nick, I think you should go on tour. I will go to college. We can't let Rick get in the way of our lives." I said even though I didn"t want to leave his side. "You will have a bodyguard with you at all times and so will I, as much as I hate having one around all the time, it is nessesary."
"Ok Rachel but remember no matter when you need me, give me a call and Ill come as soon as possible." he said and I nodded. "I know you will Nick."
"Now since I have 3 weeks till I go on tour again lets make the most of it cause I won't be able to see you again till Thanksgiving." he said smiling. The other guys came up to New York to do the rehursles so Nick and I could spend as much time as possible together. I went and I watched him dance and sing. He was doing so much better. Yes he still had pain but he worked though it for his fans but mostly for himself.
One day we were hanging out in Brian's hotel room. Which was like a good size apartment. Nick had gone to the bathroom to take a shower. The guys were in the "living room" watching tv. I turned to see Brian come in to the room with a cookie. Brian sat down and I got up and went behind him. AJ saw me but said nothing..... he was curious. Then I got close enough to him that I stole the cookie out of his hands.
"YONK!" I said and Brian started to chase me around the room.
"HEY GIVE THAT BACK!" he yelled while trying to reach over the small table for the cookie.
"Nope!" I said simply and took a bit out of the cookie.
"AWWW MAN!" Brian sighed. Howie, AJ, were laughing and Kevin was shaking his head trying not to laugh but failing miserably. I looked at Brian and he had a pout on his face.
"This looks like something Nick would do." Kevin said
"AW Brian want it back?" I said laughing.
"Not now. You bit it!" He said still pouting.
"Whats going on?" I turned around to see Nick standing there.
"Nick you missed it." AJ piped up still laughing his ass off. "Rachel came up behind Brian and stole the cookie from him and then he chased her around the room and when she stopped and bit it and the Brian pouted." AJ said all at once.
"Sounds like something I would do!" Nick laughed.
"Didnt I just say that?" Kevin said raising his hands for emphisis. Everyone laughed. It felt good to laugh again. I looked at Nick, he was his old self again.
The Sunday came for Nick to leave for the tour. We were both upset about leaving each other but we were both a phone call away.
"I'm gonna miss you." Nick said looking into my eyes.
"I'm gonna miss you too Nick." I said trying to hold back the tears. He bent down and kissed me.
"I love you." he said.
"I love you too." I said softly. We hugged and he had to get on the plane.
"I'll see you soon my babylove." he said before he got on. I smiled and waved and blew him a kiss. He was soon out of sight. Man I am going to miss him. My mom came over and hugged me. I cried.
