During the next 2 weeks I made some progress. By the end of the first week the doctor had me up and walking around a bit. But I only was able to do a few steps because I got winded easily because of my lung. The next week I could walk to the bathroom and back without much trouble. It hurt but not as bad. I could also talk normally again and laugh with out much pain. Which is good because with the guys around it was pretty hard not to laugh.
I told Nick to go home and sleep there because he needed to get good nights rest and that I was ok. All right I didnt want him to go but he had too. But Nick was always at the hospital at 9am when visiting hours started. I was in the hospital for 2 more weeks after that. A month total. I was glad to be going home.
The doctor gave me some medication for my lung and kidney and said if I had any problems to go back. I was now walking on my own with very little pain. I felt good.
As Nick and my folks brought me out of the hospital I was surprised to see no reporters waiting outside. I looked up at Nick confused.
"Oh we told everyone you were at St. Charles hospital. No one knows you are here." He said smiling,
"Good. I really didn"t want to have to deal with them right now." I said. "They dunno where we live right?"
"Nope. Kept that a secret too." Nick said proudly. I just smiled. He opened up the car door for me and I got in. My folks got in the back.
We got back to the house and there were a few cars in front. We walked in the house and I was greeted with a loud "WELCOME HOME!" By family and friends. Of course hugs went around the room.
That night after everyone left, Nick and I sat out back just holding each other and looking at the stars. We both knew we would be together for the rest of our lives. Yes he proposed a couple of months before but we knew it would last forever.
We were married in July of 2003. A lot of BSB fans were upset yet the boys still sold out every show on "The Life Tour". Many were surprised that we married kinda young me at 22 and nick at 23 but the both of knew it would happen so we decided to do it now.
