"Let me show you the shape of my heart" They five men sang in harmony finishing the last concert of the Black and Blue world tour. They ran off stage smiling and yelling.
"WOOOOOOOOO WHAT A SHOW! THE CROWED LOVED US!" Nick yelled happily.
"Yea the loved when AJ's pants got ripped off!" Brian laughed
"Well when you got it flaunt it!" AJ said with a cocky grin (AN: No pun intended there...lol).
The 5 guys ran on to the bus and headed back to the hotel. They were all on a high from a great show and a great tour. They partied at the hotel restaurant all night, it wasn't until 4 am when they returned to their rooms and fell asleep. What Nick didn't know was it would be his last good night sleep for a while.
The next day the guys didn't wake up until 2pm because of the late partying. Nick got up and went to get the paper that the hotel supplied them. When he opened up the first page of the paper the inside headline shocked him.
"BACKSTREET BOY ABUSER OUT OF JAIL
John Wiliams, stepfather to Backstreet Boy Nick Carter, has been released on probation from jail after served 8 years of a maximum of 15-year sentence. He was arrested in 1994, on child abuse charges and sentenced to 11 to 15 years at the Florida state prison. Carter, who was adopted by Harry and Jackie Littrell (Brian Littrell's parents) in 1994, has gone on with his fellow band mates to become a mega success."
Nick stopped reading. It felt like his heart had stopped. His stepfather is free. Then he thought to himself.
"Wait I'm 22 now. He can't hurt me anymore. I'm 6'3. We are now the same height. He can't hurt me." Nick relaxed at that thought. There was a knock on the door. Nick jumped. Nick slowly got up and looked in the peephole. IT was only Kevin. Nick opened the door and let him in.
"What's up cuz?" Kevin said smiling. Nick just looked at him, then looked down. "Nick what's wrong?" Kevin asked concerned. Nick just handed him the paper. Kevin read the article. "Oh Nick, Don't worry. Your older now he wouldn't think of coming after you. I mean he would be dumb to do that." Then Kevin laughed a little. "You are much stronger then you were at 14. You could kick his ass." Nick smiled a little.
"That's true Kevin." Kevin hugged Nick.
"Come on cuz. Time to go home." Kevin said and they each got their bags and headed to the airport with the other guys. On the plane Kevin and Nick told the others about John. They all agreed that John would be stupid to come after Nick. Especially now since they were so popular and let's face it with all their fans John would be hunted down really quickly.
But the thought of him coming back sat in the back on Nicks' mind.
Will he come back? The thought that scared Nick. He maybe be 22 but he is still scared of John. And he hated himself for that.
