The six of them managed to make it to Atlanta, what was left of Atlanta, without a problem. They walked into town and other Talaban soldiers saluted Kevin and Rachel not knowing that they weren't really soldiers. The other four walked with their head down and quietly walked through the town. Normally they would avoid a town all together but they needed food and water. When they arrived at the store, Rachel and Kevin had to chain the four to the side of the building just so they didn't look suspicious. Rachel then went in to the store like she had done in other towns so many times before to get what they needed. She got the food and water and headed to the counter.

"You and your partner are transporting many salves." The woman at the counter says. Rachel wished the women hadn't talked. Even though Rachel had taken classes to have the accent, she wasn't a man and that would give her away. Rachel nodded and hoped that she wouldn't talk any more. Outside Kevin saw the woman talking to Rachel and decided to bail her out.

"Amad!" Kevin yelled in a perfect accent. That was Rachel's Talaban name for times like these. Rachel looked at Kevin. "I will take care of that. You come look after them." He finished with disgust looking over at the "slaves". 'Nice touch' Rachel thought and walked over to where they were. Kevin walked to the counter.

"I had the money." He said in the accent again and laughed. The women smiled.

"Why are you taking so many slaves with just two of you?" she asked. 

"Well we need to take them to the prison in Kenu. More soldiers will be meeting us on the edge of town." He said with out hesitation. Kenu was Kentucky until the take over. The woman's mouth opened in shock. The prison in Kenu is the prison where they sent all the slaves who tried to escape more then three times and were rebellious. It was the toughest prison on the east coast. The woman said no more and gave him the bags and took the money. Kevin walked out of the store and packed the supplies in his backpack. They then unchained the four from the building and continued to walk through the town. It was getting harder not to draw attention to themselves. It was unusual to see 4 slaves to only 2 soldiers.

Kevin led everyone to another building and again they chained the 4 to the building. He then walked over to Rachel. She alone with everyone else was confused. 

"I knew we would be getting looks so I planned ahead." He whispered in her ear. "I'll be right back." He said and walked into the building. Rachel looked at Nick then Angel, Brian and AJ and just shrugged. She then looked at her surroundings. It was starting to get dark and she noticed a lot of the shops closing and people going home. She also noticed the Talaban soldiers. Some rode on horses and other on foot. A few passed by in trucks. But basically the town was quieting down.

Rachel looked back when she heard the door open to the building Kevin went in to. She saw Kevin come out with a person dressed as a soldier. Rachel along with the others looked at this person wondering who they were. Since this person was also wearing a mask she had no idea if they were a guy or girl. They stopped right in front of Rachel. The other "soldier" was about Rachel's height and she could tell they had brown eyes.

"Rachel." Kevin whispered. "I want you to meet our third soldier. She was a slave until a year ago when she became one of us. This is Jen."

"Hi." She said. 

"Hi" Jen said back. They kept staring at each other. It was like they knew each other from somewhere. 

"I know you." Rachel said still whispering and pointing at her. 

"We can figure that out after we get out of town." Kevin said a bit impatiently. They then unlocked the other four and continued on our way. The rest of the way out of town they had no problems because of the extra "soldier". They did the normal saluting to passing soldiers. Once far enough out of town they looked around to see if anyone was around. When they saw no one they dogged in to some woods and took cover. They found dome fallen logs and hid behind those. Rachel, Kevin and Jen took off their masks. Jen noticed first where they had known each other from since Rachel was taking off the handcuffs of the others at the time.

"Oh my God! Rachel!" She said in disbelief. Rachel looked up at her and the recognition hit. 

"Jen! I always wondered what happened with you!" Rachel said as they hugged. 

"You know each other?" Kevin asked.

"Yea, we were best friends before all this happened. Well we still are but you know." Rachel said laughing. Kevin smiled. They sat close together on the ground and talked and got to know each other better. As they talked Kevin hoped that the rest of the trip would go this well. Would it?
