10am and it came the time to deside weather or not I was going to go with Mike or stay with Nick. Mike had told me last night that he was going to leave today. I hadn't told Nick about this at all.
The plan for today was Nick, Mike and I were going to go and hang out at the local mall. The Backstreet Boys were just starting to get big in the U.S. but they still weren't big enough that they were being spotted when they went out.
We spent that time looking though stores and playing the display video games. Nick insisted on getting me a couple of new shirts and pants. He wouldn't take no for an answer. But Mike didn't let him buy a thing for him. I told Nick not to push him.
"So guys, what do you want to do now?" Nick said as we sat in the food court.
"I don't know." I shrugged.
"Be right back I need to use the bathroom." Nick said and we nodded then he got up and headed over to the bathroom. I looked around and spotted Joe. He noticed that i spotted him and he smiled and waved over John. I gulped.
"Whats wrong?" Mike asked me. I nodded my head in the direction i was looking. "Oh shit!" Mike sighed. "They won't attack us in here, to many people." Mike said. Thats when we saw the big guy come out. We both gasped.
"We need to get out of here." I whispered.
"Yeah." He whispered back. We saw Joe give the cut throught signal. I looked away. Just then Nick came back and sat down.
"Hey." I said putting on a fake smile.
"You ok? looks like you saw a ghost." Nick said.
"I'm fine. Can we go back now?" I asked.
"Sure. Brian is havin a BBQ." Nick said smiling. We got up and left. I looked back to where Joe was but he wasn't there any more. None of them were. I got scared. 'What if they are waiting for us outside? They had to know we walked. They might attack.' I thought to myself.
To my suprise we made it to Brian's safely. The rest of the guys were there along with some family members. We were introduced to everyone then we ate. It got late and Mike brought me in to a room that was empty.
"I'm leaving now. Are you comming with me?" He asked me. I looked at him. I knew this time was coming but I didn't want it too. I didn't want to go with Mike. As much as I loved him and I thought of him like a brother, these past few days with Nick I couldn't let him ago again. I felt great around him, I felt great around Mike too but this was a different feeling. So I looked Mike in the eyes.
"I can't go with you. I can't leave Nick again." I said softly and Mike's face saddened.
"Rachel, you can't stay here. You don't want to be a burden to him." Mike said.
"I'm not going to be a burden. I will find a place to stay and a job." I said.
"What about the Devils. You saw Those guys today. They know where you are and if you don't leave they will come back." He said holding my hand.
"They will find us no matter where we go Mike. Atleast here I have some protection. I love you Mike but I think I might be IN love with Nick." I said softly. "I can't leave him again.Even if that feeling is off, I know I can't leave him because I know he loves me too in some way. Please understand." I said to him.
"I do. My stuff is all packed." Mike said.
"Oh here." I said picking up some clothes that were on the bed. "Nick said to give these to you this morning but I forgot. He can't fit into these cause he is to tall."
"Tell him thanks, I'll need them." He said and begain to walk out to the balcony. "I'll miss you Rachel." He said. I walked out to the balcony too and we hugged.
"Write me. send it here to Brians house. He will get it to me." I said nad Mike nodded and down he went. He ran off into the woods. I wasn't crying but I was sad. Mike was like my brother for 4 years. I had to go back before Nick thought I dissappered. I turned around to leave and I looked up to see Nick in the doorway.
"How long have you been there?" I asked.
"I got here just a few seconds ago. Where is Mike going?" Nick asked. 'Good' I thought, 'He didn't hear all that stuff I said.'
"He left for good. He went to see if he could find some family in Texas." I said.
"Oh." Was all Nick could say.
"I didn't want to go. I like being here with you." I said walking towards him. "I feel safe here." He reached out and hugged me and I hugged back.
"Come on, lets go back to the barbeque." Nick said and we headed back. Despite seeing some of the Devils at the mall I still felt safe with Nick and Brian around.
